Mixed media animation showing how conflict drives hunger
Conflict is one of the leading drivers of hunger — an issue Action Against Hunger wanted to highlight with a film designed to stand out amidst the noise of global campaigning.
TM Studios developed a distinctive mixed-media approach, combining still photography taken in Somalia with illustrations by award-winning artist Tayo Fatula, animated in the UK. The project showcased our ability to blend different mediums — photography, illustration and animation — into a seamless narrative that is both striking and emotionally resonant.
The film tells the fictional, yet sadly universal, story of a young girl whose life is torn apart by war, and went on to win Gold at the W³ Awards in the USA for Best General Non-Profit Film, recognised for both its creativity and its impact.
